About me
Katika - contemporary fiber artist.
Born in Hungary in 1989.
Education:
2015 Ural State Academy of Architecture and Arts
2022 Open Studios 8 season - Winzavod
Statement:
Katika uses crochet and hand-dyed yarn as her main medium. She works with themes of the sacred, popular, and erotic. The artist engages the viewer in a dialogue through themes, materials, and techniques. Katika imbues her works with qualities of the familiar, everyday, and "cozy" object, reducing the distance between the viewer and the artwork.
